Sports Addict

Friday, June 27, 2008

The NBA season has just finished and too bad Howell was not here to watch the play offs and the championship games. He is in Majuro during the championship games and sadly the cable TV there does not include sports channels. And being a true sports fan, you can just imagine his disappointment of not being able to watch his favorite team battle it out for the NBA Championship title.

I was chatting with him this morning and he was telling me how much he misses watching her favorite sports channels. Next to basketball, football is Howell’s next favorite sports so since basketball season is over, he was telling me how much he wanted to watch her favorite football game from Direct TV’s NFL TV Package. He said that he was reading about it and got really interested with their NFL Sunday Ticket since it will allow him to watch up to 200 NFL games per season.

I can really feel from his voice how excited he was in finally going home this Saturday and being able to watch his favorite sports channel again. I can just imagine his anticipation since I am also the type of person who can never live without TV. So I guess, I really have to give in to my husband’s request and subscribe to Direct TV’s NFL TV.

Battling Drug Addiction on the Tyra Banks Show

Friday, June 13, 2008

I was watching the Tyra Banks show and my attention was caught when they featured a mother asking for Tyra’s help to do a drug intervention for her teenage daughter. The mother and the sister were being interviewed by Tyra and they shared on the show what is happening with their daughter. Apparently it all started as an obsession to loose weight. I think obesity runs in the family and the teenage daughter has been using drugs to help her loose weight which eventually led to drug addiction.

The mother was so concerned of her daughter’s situation and they keep telling her daughter to stop using drugs to loose weight but the daughter won’t listen. So in her desperation, she sought the help of Tyra to convince her daughter to undergo adult addiction treatment. And while Tyra was doing an interview with the daughter, the daughter just collapses right in front of the camera. This really made her mother and her sister and including Tyra more worried.

So Tyra was really set in convincing the teenage girl to undergo a drug detox to help her get out of drugs and be able to stay clean. Luckily Tyra was able to convince the girl to go to a drug rehabilitation center.

Hopefully, the girl will b dedicated in really trying to stay out of drugs and she is not doing it just because she was pressured by Tyra. Otherwise, once she is out of the rehab, there is really a big chance that she will go back to her old bad habits.

Kim Cattrall’s new HBO show

Wednesday, June 4, 2008

So after the big success of the Sex and the City movie, guess who is going to have her own show at HBO?

Nope, not Sarah Jessica Parker but Kim Cattrall. Yes, Kim Cattrall is set to star in her own comedy series for HBO. The title of the new show is Sensitive Skin where she plays a middle aged wife living in New York who begins to question the choices she had made in life.

Sensitive Skin is adaptation of its British series that is being written and executive produced by "The Sopranos" writers Mitchell Burgess and Robin Green.

Kim Cattrall is also the executive producer of the show. This is part of the deal with Kim’s contract when she agreed to do the Sex and the City movie. If you will remember, Kim was having some issues with the salary that she is getting as compared to Sarah Jessica Parker when they were still doing the Sex and the City TV series. There were even some rumors that she will not be part of the movie because of these issues. And it was even revealed by Cynthia Nixon when she was interviewed that Kim Cattrall was the reason it took them four years to finally release the movie because she was really not dedicated in doing it. So HBO producers have to make a really good deal for Samantha to do the movie, thus she was given the new HBO show.

CSI Vegas News

Friday, May 23, 2008

I was not able to watch the last two episodes of CSI. It totally slipped my mind. I even forgot to watch the re-runs. Oh well, I’ll just check the AXN website later or I’ll bug hubby to download me that episode that I miss.

Anyway, I just heard from E-news that Marg Helgenberger has signed another two years contract with CSI. And William Petersen has signed his contract too last month. So at least there are still familiar faces at CSI. It still saddens me up to now that Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan have to leave the show.

So who’s going to replace Jorja Fox and Gary Dourdan? The new cast member of CSI Vegas would be Lauren Lee Smith. She previously worked on The L Word. (But honestly, I don’t have an idea about this show.) She will play the role of Bryce Adams. According to E! Online the charcter of Bryce is described as a “smart, flirtatious and witty nonconformist obsessed with the underbelly of society, who got into police work to rebel against her disapproving psychiatrist father.”

Looks like she has one interesting chracter. But Id o hope that she will be able to fill the hole that Jorja Fox (Sarah) And Gary Dourdan (Warrick) has left.

ANTM Makeovers

Tuesday, May 20, 2008

I was watching my DVDs of the America’s Next Top Model and it’s the episode where they will be given a make over. This is my favourite part for every season of the America’s Next Top Model as I’m excited and curious on how they can transform the girls.

One of the girls has a very long hair and Tyra want to cut it very, very short. She let the hairstylist do their thing on her hair but she wouldn’t stop crying. She was really bothered by this and she has been crying about it for days until she finally decided to quit the show because she really can’t perform well because she is really mad with how her hair turned out.

After she left the show, the first thing that she did when she arrived home was to go to a salon and had hair extensions and human hair wigs to satisfy her desire to get her long hair back.

I don’t know, but I think Tyra Banks and the other judges have a vast experience when it comes to the modelling world and when it comes to makeover like this, they really know what they are doing. So when they asked the contestants to cut their hair or wear a real hair wigs or dye their hair or wear wigs that is really opposite their style, then it only means that they think that that is the best look for the contestant.

Let’s take a look at some of the makeovers that they have done at ANTM:

They all look great after the makeover, right? But of course, to each her own. Maybe for that girl, her hair is her personality so when it was cut, she felt that she lost her identity. But she still has to remember that she joined the show and if she wants to win and make it big, she has to learn to let go of some things and to accept the opinion of the experts in the fashion world, which is the new world that she wants to penetrate.

SATC Movie on May 30

Friday, May 16, 2008

Sex and the City movie is due to come out this May 30. I’m so excited already (*wink). I can’t wait to see Mr. Big , Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte again. There will be a preview of the movie this coming May 23 on HBO at 9:30 PM so watch out for it.

I’ve seen the trailer and the more I became excited. Carrie will be getting married to Mr. Big (finally). I think that is where the story will revolve. Charlotte’s daughter and Miranda’s son is so big already but the girls all still look and act the same. I can’t really wait to see them on big screen. So it’s a date for me and hubby. Yup, he promised to take me to the movies to watch my all time favourite TV series, Sex and the City.

And if you want to catch up and have a flashback of Sex and the City’s Season 6, you can catch them on HBO on Demand.

Still on CSI - Vegas

Tuesday, May 13, 2008

Yes, my post for today is still about CSI. LOL. Maybe you will notice that this is the only TV series that I’m watching. It is because during this time, my daughter is already in our bedroom so I have the TV all to myself from 9-10 PM every Wednesday. You see, my daughter has dominated our TV and if she is still awake, then we have no choice but to watch Disney channel and Nick Jr shows.

So back with CSI. So Warrick was cleared for the case against him but looks like they are already starting to eliminate his character. He is now suspended for two weeks since he was really pushing to solve the case against the mob guy even though Grissom has asked him to back off from the case.

So does this mean I wont be able to see him for the next two weeks? Ohh, that would be really sad as I know that this is his last season for CSI. I wonder how they will eliminate Warrick’s character. My friend said that her guess was that the mob leader might kill him before the season ends. If that is the case, then that would be a terrible thing to end his character for CSI Vegas. If they will get rid of his character (which would really happen), I just wish that it would be a nice exit for Warrick.

CSI Episode 9 and Gary Dourdan (Warrick Brown)

Sunday, May 4, 2008

OMG. I can’t believe what happened in the last episode of CSI. I just saw it now since I was not able to watch it again last Wednesday.

The case for this week involves a leader of a mob named Gedda and Warrick suspects that he is still doing his old mob ways and he has cops on his payroll that’s why no case has been filed against him. Warrick was so obsessed in getting a warrant to search for Gedda’s property to search for evidence but the judge think that the evidence that he gathered is not enough to get a warrant. Since he was so frustrated, he decided to go to the club to inspect until he meets one of the club girls named Candy. He has been drinking with the girl until Grissom came and send him home. Warrick returned to the club and went into a hotel with Candy (the club girl) while he is drunk, hallucinating and high on drugs. Then he woke up and found out that Candy was no longer in the room. He went back to the strip club to find out that Candy has been murdered and the body was found inside his car.

Then I saw the teaser for next week and Grissom said to Warrick “You’re fired!” OMG, don’t tell me that Warrick is leaving CSI too. (Two weeks ago, Jorja Fox had her last episode with CSI because she decided to leave the show.)

So I googled for answer and found out that Gary Dourdan (Warrick) is leaving the show at the end of season 8. Oh noh, now I really feel sad. First it’s Sarah and now it’s Warrick. I can’t imagine CSI Vegas without the two. But reports say that the reason for him leaving the show was not voluntary and just last April 29, Gary Dourdan was caught at 5:00 AM sleeping inside his car while it is parked at the wrong side of the street. Police said that he was disoriented and they found heroine, cocaine and ecstasy in his possession. Oh no, whatever happened to him.

I was sharing my sentiments with my husband and of course he is still all positive. He was telling me, “Don’t worry, maybe he will just be send to rehab and will come back to the show after that. Imagine, Robert Downey and now he even has the Iron Man movie.” Very typical of my husband, always positive. LOL.

I just wish Gary Dourdan will be able to get back on his feet. Oh, I really hate drugs!!

Sarah’s not coming back!!

Thursday, May 1, 2008

Remember I made a post here before about CSI Vegas Episode where Sarah left Grissom and I was wondering if it is really the end of their love story.

Well I found my answer to my question. Sarah Sidle (played by Jorja Fox) has already left CSI for good. Episode 8 of season 8 was her final day on the set. According to Jorja, it is not because of money or her contract that made her leave the show. There are some things that she wants to do, personally and professionally, that she wants to do before she gets old and being in CSI is stopping her for doing all those things.

I was kind if hoping that before the season ends, Sarah will go back and she and Grissom will get married and they will live happily ever after. I’m really a fan of their love team. I have been following their love team ever since Sarah arrived in Las Vegas and every season I’m always hoping that the two will end up together. But I guess, it will never happen now. Poor Grissom. (See I’m really affected!!). That’s the reason why when Catherine asked Grissom to run after Sarah in last week’s episode, Grissom said that he does not want to do it since that is not what Sarah wants. All he wants was for Sarah to be happy. Ahh, so sweet.

Sarah & Grissom love story - Is it really the end?

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

Have you seen the last episode of CSI Vegas? I was not able to watch the last two episodes and the last episode that I was able to watch was when Grissom proposed to Sarah. I was so happy with the turn out of events that I even made a post about it here.

I was not able to catch it last Wednesday so I just watched the re run last Sunday. I was so excited to watch it but then I realized, Sarah was really acting weird. She looks sad, disoriented, and not her usual self and she even ignored Grissom. So I was really bothered and so I sent and SMS to my cousin asking her what did I missed from the last two episodes since I really don’t get the point that Sarah looks really sad. The last thing I remember was she and Grissom was all happy after the proposal and I thought they would really live happily ever after. And so when my cousin replied, she just said that she too can’t understand Sarah and that I should really watch this episode.

And so I was really surprised to find out that the ending would be she will have to leave Las Vegas. She said on her letter to Grissom that when she was left alone in the desert by the serial killer, it made her realized things. And although she really loves Grissom and Grissom is the only person that she can call home, she still would have to leave.

This is not how I imagined their love story would end. Not like this. Sarah said in her letter to Grissom that she doesn’t even know where she will be going. I just hope that in the next episodes, she will come back and she and Grissom will finally live happily ever after.

CSI Vegas: And Grissom proposed

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Maybe we should get married. That’s how Grissom proposed to Sarah.

I was not able to watch the last episode of CSI Vegas last Wednesday and was only able to watch the replay today.

Sarah and Grissom we’re in a bee farm wearing suits to protect them from the bees. Grissom asked Sarah to try if the bee would sting her, and that’s when Grissom preferred to pop the question. Not the most romantic place to propose (but is very typical of Grissom that’s why I love the scene more), but I love Grissom and Sarah as a pair. And for Sarah who has long been waiting for Grissom to pop the question, the answer of course would be a definite Yes.

You can read more about the last episode here.

I can’t wait to see what would happen in the next episodes. I’m really excited for Sarah and Grissom’s love team specially now that their relationship is moving up to the next level.
