The Case of the Missing iPod

Saturday, February 26, 2011

I woke up this morning with my husband telling me to ask our nannies to look for Bela’s ipod since he hasn’t seen it for weeks now. And he is correct, it is indeed missing.

The last time I saw it, it sits quietly on top of Bela’s study table so I was confident that it has just been misplaced. I asked my two nannies to turn the house upside down to look for it but they found nothing.

I don’t want to make any conclusion and I don’t want to make any suspicion as I don’t have proof but my husband and I both have the same suspect. Now I started looking for all our other gadgets like our PS3, Bela’s iTouch, my iPhone, my laptop and I even checked my bags, our jewelries and watch to check if there are other things that are missing. Bela’s iPod is actually old and for sure its value depreciated already but my husband and I are just concern with the movies that we have there as our entire movie collection (which we accumulated for three years now) are all saved in that iPod. Now we have to start again in downloading the movies to rebuild our collection again.

I am still hopeful and I still want to give the benefit of the doubt to our suspect. I just hope that Bela’s iPod will just magically appear.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Tahitienne Cabas

I love anything that is purple so I should like this new monogram bag of Louis Vuitton, the Louis Vuitton Monogram Tahitienne Cabas:

But I am actually not a monogram fan (the only monogram style that I like is the Artsy and the delightful) so when I saw the enlarge monogram print for this new style, all the more that I am convinced that I am not a Monogram girl. LOL.

Well, maybe since it is spring, the color and design will work for the Spring season. But since Louis Vuitton bags are not cheap, I would rather go for classic pieces that will stand time.

Louis Vuitton Monogram Tahitienne Cabas comes in two sizes. The PM retails at $1040 and GM is being sold at $1200.

Well aside from the fact that I am not into the design, I find it too expensive also. I am sure you can easily find a fake version of this. I also don’t like the material which is cotton canvass which I am sure I will easily stained since I am a little careless when it comes to handling my bags.

But these are just my two cents.

What I miss in Boracay?

I was just checking my feeds in Facebook and now I am so green with envy upon seeing the pictures of my good friend in their recent trip to Boracay. They stayed in Shangri-La Boracay which made their vacation even more superb.

The last time I was in Boracay was I think more than three years ago already. So what are the things that I miss in Boracay?

• the long stretch of beach
• the many water activities that you can do and they even have a new attraction, the glass bottom boat
• the henna tattoo stations where I can have a temporary tattoo and look cool for a couple of days without having to worry about tattoo removal
• Food tripping and it is even so affordable. Imagine, you can have buffet dinner for less than P500.
• Jony’s famous fruit shake
• The partying at night.

We have no budget this year for Shangri-La Boracay but I hope in 2012, we can avail of Cebu Pacific’s promo and discount vouchers from Shangri-La too.

Who will be Kate Moss's Wedding Designer?

I was looking for garage door weather seal when I saw the article about Kate Moss’ wedding.

Wedding is really one topic that I get excited about and what makes this article about Kate Moss more exciting is because I read that she might be designing her own wedding gown.

Vivienne Westwood, a famous wedding designer and a good friend of the model was the one who give a hint that Kate might be designing her own wedding gown. She was interviewed and was asked if she will be Kate’s wedding gown designer and she answered by saying that Kate will design her own wedding gown.

But Kate also announced during the London Fashion week that John Galliano, the creative director for Christian Dior, will be her wedding gown designer.

But whoever will design her gown, be it John Galliano or Vivienne Westwood or if she designs it herself, I am sure Kate will be the most dashing bride (all brides do) on her wedding on July 2.

Zara 2011 Spring LookBook

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Bright, basic and comfy. I think these are the adjectives that describe best the Zara Spring 2011 Collection:

I love the bright colors and how relaxing all the pieces look. My favorite among the collection:

Although I am sure I will need to use phenphedrine before I can pull this outfit off.

The model for this shoot is the British 40-year old model Stella Tennant. Gosh, she still looks sexy and fab at 40. I wish I can be like her. I love the collection but seeing her carry it so well makes me really think if this outfit can look best for someone who has the weight and figure like mine. LOL.

So although I love to dress up and be fashionable once in a while, I just have to satisfy myself with my current look and will try this kind of styles when I am already back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

The Move

After two months of processing, it has been finalized already as we have signed the contract for our bank loan. We already had a meeting with our seller to give her feedback and timeline on when can the bank pay her and we also learned from the seller that they are ready to move out of the house come June.

So this is it. It hasn’t really sunk in on me yet as what I am worried about is if we can pay for the monthly amortization. But after I saw the To do list of my friend who is also moving houses like us, I realized that there is really a lot that has to be done.

For one, I need to get help with moving or other chores. Thankfully I read from the blog of “As a star” about Hire a helper and how I can search and book movers online for our move in June. I read from her home blog that I can even read feedbacks and reviews about a particular mover before booking them so I can be sure that we only hire reliable and trusted movers who will take good care of our precious things during our move.

If you want to learn more about Hire A Helper too, just click here.

The Mulberry Tillie: Spring 2011

Monday, February 21, 2011

What’s with Mulberry for Spring 2011? Although I must admit that I won’t be able to afford a Mulberry in my lifetime, I have been a big fan after I saw one in person. The feel and smell of the leather, aside from the color and the design, is what made me fell in love with Mulberry’s Alexa.

And so for this spring, introducing: The Mulberry Tillie

This beauty is made from soft snake embossed calf leather with its belt strap locks for an intricate detail. You can choose to use the top handle or just leave it flat as it is undetectable and blends well with the snake calf leather of the body. You can choose to use it as a shoulder bag or a hand bag as the leather wrapped chain is detachable.

This new style comes in five different color or texture: Oak silky snake print, light peach hair calf, chestnut, black and powdered beige.

My cousin already booked our hotel for our upcoming Cebu trip. It is a five star hotel (thank goodness so I will be sure that the rooms, the bathrooms and all the facilities are clean so I won’t have to worry in looking for eczema treatment after this trip) in the Mactan area and is in the same shore line as Shangri-La. The only problem for this resort is it is actually far from downtown so we have to book special trips if we want to go to SM or Ayala Center or if we want to have a city tour. The hotel, I think, does not provide free shuttle service also.

I should be excited already for this trip as this is our first out of town trip together with my whole relatives. But plans are still uncertain for now as we don’t know yet if this trip will push through or not. The kids were a bit disappointed when they learned that there is a possibility that this trip will not materialize but who knows, maybe there is a reason why there are a lot of events happening that is making us think if we should go or not.

Oh well, I am leaving all the decisions to the elders. I am ready whatever they decide upon so I will just wait for them to make up their minds.

My 2nd G: For 2011-2031

My new baby arrived last Wednesday and she is a real beauty. Just look at her:

I bought this again from Faye, where I bought my first G bag and my other bags. I actually have no plans of buying a new bag as I know that we have a big financial challenge to face this year. But she is just so irresistible and the price and the deal that I got from Faye was really a steal.

So I told hubby that this will be my last bag (before hubby gets stress out in dealing with a shopaholic wife that he will need to read about male enhancement reviews as a result of stress. LOL). Of course hubby whole heartedly gave his permission and he even shouldered half of the payment.

I am glad I bought this bag. Like what I said, we will face a big financial challenge starting mid of this year, so at least this G bag is off my list already.

Alexa: Mini Version

Friday, February 18, 2011

Ever since I saw the Mulberry Alexa in raisin, I have been drooling for it. But I know there is no way for me to afford that bag so I just satisfy myself with Alexa wannabees like the one that I posted here.

But I read that Mulberry released Alexa’s mini version and is almost half the price as the regular size. Just look at this cutie:

It retails at $695 and it comes in black, oak and watermelon (thank goodness they don’t have a mini in raisin.LOL. Though the watermelon is so cute also).

The measurement for this baby:
Height 17cm / 6.7″; Width 27cm / 10.6″; Depth 10cm / 3.9″; handle drop 6cm / 2.4″; shoulder strap 112cm – 128cm / 44″ – 50″; (all measurements are approximate)

Although this mini is way too small for the stuff that I carry in my bag so I am really not sure if I will be able to make good use of this bag. But I am sure this will be a perfect weekend bag especially since I always go out with two kids in tow and having your hands free from carrying a bag will be such a convenience.

But even if the price is still half as the regular Alexa, sadly, I don’t think I will still be able to afford it (insert a sad face here.)

Bag Shop Sale

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

Could this be a sign? The extra large Le Pliage bag of Long Champ that I want is on sale from Bag Shop. From $155, it is now $124. Not bad, eh? But the colors that they have on sale are from their past season but I can go for the deep red instead of the spring colors that I like. But since my salary from my sideline is way behind, I might need to get cash advance so I can buy this bag.

Oh well, I still have a few more months before our trip and I am really hoping and praying that business will start to pick up again as I am still below the budget that I need for my contribution for our US trip so I can still save for our expenses and hope that there will be extra for my shopping before and during the trip.

So I guess for now, I will have to say no to Bag Shop’s sale and here is to hoping that they will have another promo for the Le Pliage bag that I want before our trip.

My 2nd "G"

My performance appraisal is due in the next couple of months and I don’t think that I have anything new to add to my career profile. That is why I am thinking of taking up masteral again and so I am looking at possible online degree programs that I can enrol to.

But before I do more research about online degree programs, let me post here my good news for the day. My new baby (my G bag that I posted here) has finally arrived.
My friend Faye sent me a direct message yesterday to inform me that my G bag is arriving today. And so I saw a big box when I arrived from work.

As much as I wanted to rip open the box so I can finally meet my new baby, I haven’t opened it yet since I have been taking care of Cobi since I arrived. Howell is still working overtime so I have to look after my two babies first.

But you will definitely see a picture of me using it soon….Hopefully I can break it in tomorrow. Excited much!!

Long Champ's Spring Collection

Have you seen Long Champ’s spring collection? Well I know that I am really turning away from temptation but I forgot that I am subscribed to Magnums newsletter (which made me think if it will be a good idea that now is the best time to unsubscribe. LOL) so I got this email from them about Long Champ Le Pliage Spring collection. Just look at how cute and refreshing the colors of the Le Pliage bags are:

I actually want to get a Le Pliage in Extra Large size for our hand carry for our upcoming trip and since we will be in US during spring time, these colors will really be perfect. But come to think of it, the price that I will pay for the Extra Large bag can pay half of our entrance fee in Disneyland so I am really thinking twice. LOL. Oh well, if I can’t buy one, I think hubby has a lot of back packs that we can use (it is just not that fashionable compared to the Le Pliage. LOL).

Shopping No More

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

I was just checking my feeds in Facebook and I saw this:

(Photos snagged from Chic Dress' profile page in Facebook)

This will be a nice get up for me for our advance summer getaway this coming March 6-8. And it will even be more perfect if I will be able to take adapexin-p so I will be able to loose weight and get rid of those ugly bulges.

But then again, I realized that I should really start to save as we just signed the contract for our housing loan and in just a few months, we will start paying for the monthly amortization. Although I still feel scared and nervous for this investment that we decided to take, I have no regrets because my husband and I knows that it is for the benefit of our family especially for Bela and Cobi.

So I guess my old swimsuits and maxi dress will do because I know in exchange of it, Cobi and Bela will be secured that they have their own house to live to.

Let's Talk Gold

I love shopping as it gives me a different kind of joy. But I think I will have to limit this starting this year as my husband and I decided to make a major investment this year for our family.

I still feel scared and nervous as this entails a big amount of our savings but my husband and I agreed that it is for the benefit of our family. It is an investment and so we know that we are making the right decision.

Just like investing in gold. Gold has always been known to be the very best way to preserve one’s wealth as it is a very stable investment. It does not depreciate over time and it is universally accepted that is why it is really wise to invest in gold. If only we did not make any major investment for this year, I will really try to consider to Buy Gold Krugerrands as we know that our savings will be secured if we invest in gold.

Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

Friday, February 4, 2011

While breastfeeding Cobi, I enjoyed browsing at the pictures of my friends in Instagram. One of my favorite for this week is the pictures of my friend Apols when she and her family stayed in Marina Bay Sands to celebrate Chinese New Year.

I so envy her because the hotel was just amazing – the big rooms with an amazing view of Singapore’s skyline, the Sands Skypark infinity pool which is the largest outdoor infinity pool, the high end shops, the numerous restaurants that is in the same building as the hotel and a whole lot more. I bet she and her family, especially her two boys, really had a grand time there. The only complain that I heard from her so far was the bathroom as it lack amenities that are fit for a five star hotel such as Marina Bay Sands. They could have installed one of those pedestal sinks, a bidet, a bath tub and add L'OCCITANE toiletries, then it would have really been perfect.

Now I can’t wait to go back to Singapore. Last time I was there was back in 2009 and seeing pictures of my friends who recently have been there, there are a lot of new must see attractions in Singapore which gives us all the more reasons to visit Singapore soon.

My Biggest Challenge

This blog has been a testament of my shopping spree last year. This year, my husband and I will be embarking on a big journey that we think will be beneficial for our family and so we promised that we will really try to live a frugal life so we can save up for this new adventure that we will be taking.

Today in Twitter, almost all my friends want to start saving up and we all promised that we will really try to avoid temptations and stay away from online shopping. Let us see if we can really make it. LOL.

Last year I bought way too many bags and when I look at it now, I have to ask myself, “Do I really need all these bags?” 2010 has been a very good year for my work and so when I saw my total earnings for the last quarter of 2010 alone, I felt really guilty because I spent most of it in shopping and less for savings.

This blog has been a testament of my shopaholic world. Now let us see if I can really live a frugal life. I know I can do it because it is for future of my kids so wish me luck.

Shopaholics Going Green

Thursday, February 3, 2011

I heard from the news that our weather bureau predicted that there will shorter periods for summer this year as rainy season will come early. I guess this is already one of the effects of global warming. That is why it is really important to do our share in helping save our environment. And for shopaholics out there, don’t you know that you can have your share too in saving mother earth? That is through green shopping.

Green shopping, or online shopping in lay man’s term, really contributes a lot in conserving our environment since you can just do your shopping at the comforts of your own home which means less carbon dioxide emissions. Less carbon dioxide emission means less pollution which is already a big step in stopping global warming

So what are you waiting for? Start going green and instead of rushing to stores, just do your shopping at You get the convenience of shopping at home and at the same time doing your share in helping conserve Mother Earth.
