Gold over Bags

Monday, August 30, 2010

I was just cleaning up my things and I just realized that I purchased three Long Champ bags already for this year and I still have a few months left before the year ends which means there is still a possibility that I might be tempted to buy another one to add to my collection.

I did the math and I suddenly felt guilty because I could have put the money to good use like buying gold bullion instead of bags as an investment. I read the site of United States Gold Bureau and I learned a lot about gold investments. I learned that gold is very good tangible assets as it moves in opposite direction as paper investment so it is not affected negatively by what is happening with our economy. It can also be easily sold as it is universally accepted.

I guess if I am really concerned with my family’s future I better stop buying bags and start making good investments.

LC Planetes in Grape

Thursday, August 26, 2010

Purple is my favorite color and so when I saw the purple limited edition Long Champ bag, I did not think twice and ordered one for me from Caryl. Although it is really not the shade of purple that I like, I am still happy because at least it is purple.

But when I learned that Long Champ has the Planetes in this shade of purple, I suddenly have a new addiction.

I already bought a Long Champ bag for this month and so I can’t afford to buy another one. But September is just a few days away, so I am really crossing my fingers and hope that September will be a good month again for me so I will find the budget again for my Long Champ Planetes in Grape.

September is already the start of the “BER” months which signals the start of the Christmas season so wouldn’t it be nice to start the “BER” months with a new bag? LOL.

Hubby's New Toy: Canon 50D

Tuesday, August 24, 2010

Hubby has a new toy. He upgraded his Canon 40D and bought a Canon 50D last Saturday. He plans to sell his 40D as we have another DSLR, Canon 20D, which he bought from his officemate a few months ago so at least he can add the money that he will be getting form the sale of his 40D to buy the 50D.

I told him not to buy the 50D until he has sold his 40D but he was so excited and he wanted to have his new toy on Cobi’s Baptism. So after Bela’s swimming class last Saturday, he just dropped us off at home and went straight to Quiapo to buy his new baby.

He has asked my brother to display the Canon 40D at our store in Greenhills to sell it but unfortunately, it has been one week and it hasn’t been sold yet. That is why I ordered posters from Print Direct for Less. Print Direct for Less is an online printing service store and they print cards direct, posters, door hangers, brochures, catalogs and the like. They even have custom design that I can use for my poster and they can deliver my poster within 24-48 hours so my brother can display it in our store to highlight the camera that my husband is selling. They have full color printing so I am sure that it will catch the attention of the passersby in Greenhills and I am sure that my husband's Canon 40D will have a new owner soon.

Something Flat

Tuesday, August 17, 2010

It has been almost two months already when we moved to the room that we are occupying now. With the arrival of Cobi, we find our first room small already so before Cobi’s arrival, my husband worked on renovating our second room (which is bigger) with the help of my dad so we can have a much bigger space.

Hubby did a thorough clean up and he made sure that he removed everything that used to be stored in that room. Now our room only contains our queen size bed, Bela’s bed and my cabinet. Now that we have cleaned up the room, we now have a big empty space opposite our bed and so Howell is thinking that this will be a perfect spot for an lcd tv.

When we checked out the malls, we got really confused as there are a lot of models of televisions available. Of course, we wanted something that is within our budget but is durable so we can use it for years. So instead of being at a lost, we went online to check out tv reviews so we can read buyer’s feedbacks on the different type, model and brand of flat screen tv that is available in the market. Reading the buyer’s feedback is really a big help for us since they have a first hand experience of the product so they are in the best position to make recommendations.

I am glad that we were able to finally decide what brand and model of tv we are getting and I can’t wait to have it installed so we can enjoy our favorite shows in our new room.

On Taking Risks

Thursday, August 12, 2010

Time is gold, as cliché as this may sound. This line always reminds us that time is as precious as gold. So this idea thought me that as time pass by, many things are improving and happening in my family’s life.

As my kids grow, they need security for their future and so I realized that I have to make the most out of my time to do all the best things I can just to give them a better life. And these are the reasons why I always work hard for them.

Aside from my job, I do other things that will help me earn money especially for my kids’ security. I invest into business, gold coins and even real estate so that we will have something to depend on whenever other circumstances occurred.

I know for a fact that taking these risks are all worth it because I know that I can have additional income from my investments and that’s why I always think twice for I don’t want to regret anything that I do for my family.

Fitflop for Me?

I am not actually a fan of flip-flops. In fact I rarely use one and you can’t really see me wearing one especially when I’m out at the mall or somewhere because I only wear flip-flops when I’m at home.

But last week, I saw my sister browsing the web and she was searching on wear she can buy a cheaper authentic Fitflop, which is a famous brand of slippers today. Actually, some of my friends even own one but I didn’t care about it at all. But when I learned that my sister also drools for it, I became curious so I searched about it.

And when I discovered that it is not an ordinary slipper but rather it can help you lose weight. At first I didn’t believe it but when I read further reviews, people using it said that it is really effective. So now, I’m, beginning to think of buying one for myself.

Q & A

Snagged this from my sister.

1. What’s the age difference between you and your eldest sibling? I’m the eldest.

2. Do you believe that there’s always room in your heart for your first true love? Nope.

3. What is your zodiac sign? Capricorn

4. Why did you hug the last person you hugged? Because I love my daughter.

5. Who is the last person of the opposite sex that made you smile? My hubby.

6. Do you have trust issues? Sometimes.

7. Where will you be tonight? In my room, having a good night sleep.

8. Who are you texting? None.

9. Do you believe everything happens for a reason? Definitely.

10. If the person who hurt you the most in your life apologized and told you they loved you what would you do? It depends on the situation. Sometimes it’s so hard to forgive.

11. Last time you had a yummy chocolate ice cream? I can’t remember.

12. Are you mean? At times.

13. Who do you trust the most in your life? My family.

14. What do you miss most about your past? My high school life.

15. If given a chance, would you change your name? No.

Saving Up

One of the reasons why I am holding off my shopping is that hubby and I promised to each other that we will really try to save up so we can proceed with our plan to make new investments for the future of our kids. We used to invest in real estate but since it is not a good market now to invest in, we have been doing some research and readings and we discovered the site of United States Gold Bureau where we learned a lot about precious metal investment.

With our reading, we learned that investing in precious metals such as silver, platinum and gold in the form or gold coin or gold ingot is a good investment as it doesn’t depreciate in time and so it is a good way to preserve one’s wealth and asset. It is also universally accepted so it can be easily converted to cash. Its storage is not a problem also as it doesn’t require complex and big storage box as it can be safely stored in a safety deposit box at home or in local banks.

I am sure sacrificing a thing or two from my shopping wish list will not hurt me because it will be for the future of our kids.

I Heart Red Garance

This has been an LC day as Long Champ bags has been the topic of conversation for almost the whole day in Twitter. And would you believe that the Long Champ Red Garance is also on sale from Magnums online store.

The Red Garance is one of the colors in my list of must have colors for Long Champ bags and just like what my friend Peachy said, why not buy it now when it is on sale. LOL.

If only I have bottomless funds, I would have ordered this bag right away but since this is not the case, I have to just drool and wish that this will be on sale again when I have the budget to buy it.

Long Champ Great Wall of China Special Asian Edition

When I woke up today, I planned to work right away as I know I still have a lot to finish before the deadline this 2 AM. But then my world went crazy when I saw the twit of Kelly about this:

This is the new limited edition Long Champ Great Wall of China special Asian Edition. And of course all of us Long Champ addicts were all active in Twitter this morning as we exchange our thoughts and excitement for this bag. We all want to have one. LOL.

So I immediately contacted our friend Caryl who is base in Hong Kong to check out the bag for us and because of my excitement I totally forgot that Caryl is here in Manila right now. But he already talked to her friend who is now in Hong Kong to check if it is available in Long Champ stores there and the price and Caryl will let us know.

I am excited already to know the price of this bag. I just so love the brown and the black bag and I am really hoping that I can afford it. Hey, I deserve a price since I have been working really hard lately. LOL.

Picture snagged from Retail Therapy online store.

My Research

I am a shopaholic. LOL. I know most of the time, I only visit online shopping sites but there are also times when I do some productive Internet surfing. Just like today when I was browsing the site of United States Gold Bureau.

United States Gold Bureau is an authorized dealer of US Mint and I learned that if I want to make investments on precious metals, then I should visit their site to get tips, news and information about precious metal investment. Investing in precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum bullion and coins is a very good investment as it will not depreciate in time and is widely accepted so it can be easily converted to cash. And if I want to invest in these hard assets, then the United States Gold Bureau is the best place to go as they have experienced hard asset professionals that can definitely help me with my precious metal investment.

Of course I should not just always visit online shopping sites but I should also find ways to invest to save for our future. Otherwise, all my money might just go to waste and I might just end up using it buy bags, gadgets, toys, clothes, etc that will not save my family during rainy days.

# 188 we go!

1. Life is what me make of it.

2. No matter how many bumps you encounter along the way, just keep going.

3. My last text message (or IM) ended in these three words: “is the keyword”.

4. Three cheese pizza is what I'm thinking about for dinner sometime soon.

5. On the 1st day of August, I was just at home the whole day relaxing and resting after a tiring weekend.

6. My Bela is ever so lively and energetic.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to having at least seven hours of sleep tomorrow my plans include a visit to MOA to check the venue for Bela’s birthday, and Sunday, I want to spend more quality time with my family especially my husband whom I miss very much!

No Time to Complain

It is already 2:38 AM and I am still typing away to beat the deadline. I might just have an hour of sleep as I know Cobi will wake up anytime now to feed.

No reason for me to complain as this will mean extra moolah for me and besides I went out the whole day and had fun with my family so I have to sacrifice a little now to earn a little extra cash.

Never Too Late

My mom is the type of person who never goes out without makeup. I am her exact opposite. But she and my sister are saying that I should learn how to fix myself and I should learn how to apply even simple makeup.

I am now in my thirties and sometimes I think I am too old to learn how to apply makeup but they are saying that the more I get older, the more I should learn how to fix myself so I can still remain beautiful even if I am getting older and older each year.

So when I learn about Regency Beauty Institute, it gave me an idea that maybe I can try and enroll in beauty school in Wichita. The beauty schools in Wichita as well as all the campuses of Regency Beauty Institute have a salon setup that looks like the upscale salon so their students can really get the best training.

So I am thinking that I will never go wrong with Regency Beauty Institute and it is still not too late for me to learn a thing or two about beauty and fashion.

1 Month Before the "BER" months

Time really flies so fast. In just a few weeks, I will be going back to work already as I am on maternity leave up to September 3 only and I just realize that by that time, it is the start of the “BER” months already.

Here in my part of the world, Christmas begins early. September, which is the start of the “BER” months, signals the start of Christmas and you can already see christmas yard decorations adorning the houses, you can hear Christmas songs already being played in the radio, you can see Christmas decorations in the malls already, and you can hear about Christmas shopping already from your friends and relatives.

I am excited for this year’s Christmas as it will be Cobi’s first and as early as now I am already planning for the gifts that I will be giving my two kids and the clothes that they will be wearing on Christmas. This is one of the many reasons why Christmas is my favorite holiday as it gives me all the reason to go shopping. LOL.

Proud of Myself

Friday, August 6, 2010

Last Sunday, we were able to drop by at Robinson’s Place to buy souvenirs for Cobi’s baptism. On our way up to Toys R’ Us, I spotted the Philip Stein display inside the department store and I had this feeling that it is calling me and so I went in to check it out.

The saleslady was so approachable (unlike the sales assistant who entertained me at the store in Mall of Asia) and she let me try on all the styles that I like. Hubby was convincing me to buy it already as he knows how much I wanted to own one and he said that it will be his gift for me.

I was so tempted to grab hubby’s offer but then I stop to think it over first. I know we have a lot of expenses lined up like we need to purchase ceiling mounted lighting from Maxim lighting for our house in Bulacan, and we have a big expense coming up with Cobi’s baptism and Bela’s 5th birthday party (though it will just be a small party) and I so wanted to have an out of the country trip hopefully by December or January either in Hong Kong or Singapore so we really need to prioritize our expenses.

And I am so proud of myself for being able to resist temptation. LOL. But I hope the next time I see a Philip Stein display again, I will still be able to control myself and stop myself from making any impulsive purchase.
