Go for Gold

Thursday, July 29, 2010

I’ve been shopping for Jacobo’s clothes and other baby necessities from various sites that my friend recommended. I saw lots of great stuffs that will perfectly fit his needs as he grows. And since I was totally enjoying, I almost forgot that I to search for gold coins because hubby wants to buy gold eagle coins.

I sent an instant message to one of my friends who frequently buy such thing about the best or most reliable source of gold coins and she suggested the United States Gold Bureau. I’ve been reading a lot and I learned that gold coins would really be a good investment just like the cars and businesses that are usually the means of investment.

Hubby and I have made up our minds already regarding this matter and we will definitely save more money for this. We both know that this will help us in our financial security since we can’t even predict what will happen in the future.

Thursday Thunks - Drawing in the Sand

1. We know how creative Berleen is with her terrific tee-shirts and such, so how about you? Do you draw anything or perhaps your name in the sand when you go to the beach? Not all the time, but Bela does it always.

2. Kimber doesn’t always leave her house. I wonder if she knows what is out her back door. What is out your back door? Nothing.

3. Do you prefer the beach, a pool or a lake? Why? Beach of course. I just love the ambiance.

4. What is something recently that happened to you that you are REALLY excited about? When I gave birth to my second child.

5. I am fortunate that I come from a very close family. Are any of your great-grandparents still alive? If not did you ever meet them? All of them passed away already but I was able to meet them when I was still a kid.

6. When was the last time you spoke in front of a large group? Tell us about it. I can’t remember.

7. Have you ever bungee jumped? Would you ever bungee jump? Nope and I don’t have the guts to do it.

8. How strong emotionally do you think you are? I’m actually weak emotionally.

9. Kimber and Berleen still have NEVER met, yet they are best friends. What is the first thing you notice about people when you meet them? Their eyes.

10. Who do you mess with the most? Rude people and those who don’t deserve my respect and trust.

11. Who was the last person you talked to on a landline? My mom.

12. I finally saw Avatar this week. What was the last movie you watched long after it came out and loved? I can’t remember. It’s been a long time.

13. What did you dream about last night? I’d rather not discuss to it.

Princess Tea Party for her 5th

Tuesday, July 27, 2010

So Bela wants to have a Princess Tea Party for his fifth birthday. I actually have no plans to throw a party for her but all her grand parents and aunties are protesting and they told me that Bela should have a party as she is starting to get jealous already of her baby brother.

Since we are working on a limited budget, I just want to book Shakey’s for her party but my problem is if it possible to pull off a Princess Tea Party at Shakey’s. LOL. The only idea that I have at the moment is to order a custom cake topper with a figure of Bela dressed as a princess from the supplier where we ordered those cute and customized wedding cake toppers. Also, balloon decors can also do the trick which I can easily order online and just ask my party planner friend to do the decorations.

But I know I still have to look for other party ideas to execute a successful Princess Tea party for Bela. But first I need to look for alternative venue first as hubby is not set in having the party at Shakey’s. Any suggestions?

Bag or Gold?

Sunday, July 25, 2010

We are praying and hoping that we will receive a good news this week. Hubby even promised me that he will buy me my dream bag if ever we got lucky this week but then I realized that instead of a bag (which is not really a big necessity for me), we can buy gold bullion instead so it will be another investment for us.

I have been reading the site of United States Gold Bureau as recommended by a friend and I have really learned a lot from this site about gold investment. I have also contacted the experienced hard asset professionals of United States Gold Bureau who can help us get the best value of gold in the market.

Gold is a great tangible asset as it is widely accepted, does not depreciate, can be easily stored in a bank or safety box at home and can be easily converted to cash that is why it is a very good investment.

I have compiled my notes and will ask hubby to review it and for sure he will agree with my plan for a new investment.

Late

Last Friday, I attended the Prep Parents Assembly at St. Scholastica and I was thirty minutes late. I guess it is really time for me to buy the Ulysse Nardin watch that I have been eyeing for months now to replace my old watch.

I woke up around 6 AM that day but since I just went to bed around 5 AM, I decided to steal a couple more minutes of sleep and went back to bed. When I checked my watch, I thought it was just 6:45 AM and so I was not hurrying up but I was surprise when I saw our clock in the living room and realized that it is already 7:45 AM and I haven’t taken a bath yet and the meeting starts at 8:30 AM.

I quickly took a bath and instead of taking the public transportation going there, I asked my dad to drive me so I will not be that late. But I was really not having luck that day as there was heavy traffic and I arrived at St. Scholastica around 9 AM already. The assembly just started though and I did not miss that much and there were a couple of parents who even arrived later than me. LOL.

Party Planning Again

While I am still on maternity leave, I am taking this opportunity to plan for three parties – Cobi’s Christening, Bela’s fifth birthday party and Cobi’s first birthday party.

I love planning for parties especially if it is for my kids. Though I don’t have that much time to go around and check venues, I am using the Internet to inquire, check and book the different suppliers that I will need for the three parties which I am really thankful so I can still plan and prepare for the party even if I am just at home.

I made some down payments already and I am happy with the progress of my party preparations and I am excited at how these three parties will turn out. If only we have unlimited funds then it would be much easier to plan for these three parties. LOL.

Illegal and Unethical

I confessed that I am a shopaholic. I am always on the look out for sales and promos online and I love shopping for lots of stuff from clothes, gadgets, bags, and even toys online. But even though I do a lot of transactions online, I always make sure that the online store offers secured shopping for their customers as I don’t want my personal and credit information to be compromise.

Credit information is something that we want to keep private and is something that should not be shared with others especially to strangers. That is why when I learned what TransUnion, a credit reporting company, did back in 1987 when they illegally sold credit information to marketing companies, I got really worried and mad.

What they did was really illegal an unethical so their victims really have the right to file a TransUnion Class Action Lawsuit. Competent lawyers of O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath can help the victims of TransUnion in getting a monetary damage claim.

Happy Camper

Friday, July 23, 2010

My husband will surely go crazy once he sees this site. He collects all sorts of sports memorabilia like autographed photos of his sports idol and I tell you he really spends a great deal of time in getting them. So knowing a site where he can get authentic sports memorabilia just by purchasing it online at an affordable price will be heaven for my husband. He will surely be one happy camper once I give this site to him.

Car repairs is one of the things that I hate spending on and so we always rely on buying rebuilt Marine engine instead of buying brand new ones. But like what you mentioned in your post, you have to buy your rebuilt engines from trusted suppliers so you will be sure that your engine won’t break down again. Thanks for sharing this information about US Engines. Now we know of a reliable and trustworthy store to buy our car engine.

Saturday 9: Love Hurts

1. Tell us about the last time that you got hurt in the arena of love. Oh it was a very long time ago, I think when I was still in college which is like more than five years ago.

2. Have you ever been part of the wedding party, other than your own? Yes, a lot of my friends and relatives got married already where I am part of the entourage. There were also two weddings of my friends that I attended where I was the wedding coordinator.

3. Let's say you find yourself in Hell after you die. Think about everyone you've known in your life. Who would be the one person that would least likely to surprise you by being in Hell with you? I don’t think I will be surprise to find someone I knew in hell. LOL.

4. What brings you good luck? My family – my husband, Bela and Cobi and my anting-anting DZI bracelets.

5. Do you have a photo blog? If so, feel free to share the link with us! None. Though I sometimes post pictures in my blog. I have a flickr account though: http://www.flickr.com/photos/abielaguerta/

6. What is your biggest source of news? (Internet? Newspaper? Television? Radio? The Daily Show? Other?) The Internet.

7. What's the hottest you've ever been in your life? Not even close to being hot. Lol.

8. If you had to choose a theme song for your blog, which would you choose and why? I am not really good with songs so I can’t think of any right now.

9. Who was the last person you had an online conversation with that you've never met or talked to on your phone? I have in person all my online friends.

Thank you for sharing this information about Immunolytics and about their mold test kits. Now I am aware that we just a few bucks, I can test my home for any molds and other viruses that is dangerous to the health of my family. At least now I am informed about these molds and on how to prevent them to have a safe living environment for my family.

Comment: A good friend of mine just moved in to their dream house and I am helping her shop for her new home. We are debating on whether she should get window blinds or curtains but after reading your post, we became aware of the many benefits of windows blinds. And after visiting blindsaver.com, we got really excited as we saw a lot of blinds that we really love and we think would look really good in my friend’s house. And who could say no to additional 5% discount just by using coupon code and free shipping. We will definitely get our windows blinds from blindsaver.com.

The "B" Bag

Tuesday, July 6, 2010

Snagged this picture from my good friend Jacqui’s Flickr site:

Bal SGH City in Raisin - with cam flash

Her Balenciaga SGH City in Raisin. I am really not into Balenciaga bags not because I don’t like it but because I know there is no way I can afford one. But every time my Twitter friends post pictures of their B bag, I can’t help but fall in love with the Balenciaga bags.

I love its bold and exciting colors not like the usual brown or ivory color of LV bags. Maybe I should try life insurance lead so I will have extra income to afford my dream Balenciaga bags. LOL.

But I don’t think I will be able to own a B bag soon. We have a lot of expenses lined up for this year up to next year so I guess all I can do for now is drool and wish that someday I will be able to own a B bag.

Fr. Suarez & Mama

Have you heard about Fr. Suarez, the Healing Priest? I was looking at our TV and tv stands and I just realized that I have seen him performed miracles and healing services when he was featured at Jessica Soho show.

I suddenly remembered him because today is the interment of my mother-in-law and he personally visited my mother-in-law when she was still in the hospital to perform healing services. After the healing service, he talked to my brother-in-law who is a priest like him and he told him that healing is two ways: either the patient will be fully healed or the patient will no longer suffer.

When she was discharged from the hospital and was at home, she did not experience any pain. The pain just came back on the night before she died. The family believes that Fr. Suarez gave mama the second healing, the doctor gave her 4 months to live but after only three weeks, she joined her Creator.

There will always be a deep void in our life now that mama is gone. But we are thankful because she is now in a place where there is no more pain and we believe that she is happy now.

LC Shopping

I long wanted to buy a Longchamp Planetes bag ever since I discovered its existence but I am having second thoughts as its price is a little higher compared to the regular Le Pliage. But the Longchamp Planetes Medium was on sale two weeks ago and would you believe that it only cost $98.

I was not able to join the Longchamp shopping spree of Aggie and Peachy during the sale because I was already admitted at the hospital that time when they did their online shopping. When I was discharged from the hospital, Peachy told me about the sale but when we checked, only the Large Planetes is available and I find the large size too big for me.

Sayang. LOL. Anyways, at least I was spared from another impulsive purchase. LOL. But I told Peachy to notify me at once if it goes on sale again. I really want to own one.

God's Will

Monday, July 5, 2010

It has been a very stressful week for our family that I will really need wrinkle creams. Everything happens so fast that up to now, I still can’t believe that everything is real.

Three weeks ago, my mother-in-law was admitted to the hospital because she is complaining of stomach pain. After performing exams, we received the bad news that she has stage 4 cancer. Hubby was devastated. He is a very strong and positive person and it is the first time that I saw him broke down like that.

And then maybe because of stress and because it is almost my due date already, I had bleeding and we thought that I am giving birth already. Thank goodness that I just needed bed rest when I went to my OB for a check up but she scheduled me already for a CS delivery on the 21st.

I gave birth on the 21st of June and we are really thankful that I had a safe delivery and baby boy is healthy. My mother-in-law was discharged from the hospital the same day I gave birth. My sister-in-laws visited me at the hospital but mama is too weak already to come up at the nursery to see our baby boy.

The weekend after that, Howell and Bela visited my mother-in-law at their home in Quezon City. Baby boy and I were not able to come as I am still recovering from my operation. We are planning to visit her the weekend after that but then on the morning of June 30, we got a call from my sister-in-law to tell us the bad news, mama is gone.

But like Fr. Jason (hubby’s brother) is saying, mama is happy now because she is already with his Creator so we should all be happy and accept the will of God.

Fashion Designers Sketches of Bella's Wedding Dress

Sunday, July 4, 2010

I was playing around with my laptop and I landed on the article in Instyle about the sketches of some of the famous designers of Bella’s wedding gown which she will wear when she marries Edward in Breaking Dawn.

I haven’t seen the movie Eclipse yet but as described in the book, Bella’s gown will be an early 1900s design with a modern tweaks to the train and veil. Here are some of the sketches:

.: Monique Lhuillier :.
.: Max Azria :.
.: Lela Rose :.
.: Christian Siriano :.

I wonder which among these designs will be chosen as Bella’s wedding gown for the movie. My favorite is the creation of Monique Lhuillier which is a mermaid-style dress with lace detailing. I also like the simplicity of Lela Rose gown but if I want to be grand and elegant, I also love Christian Siriano’s design with its three-tiered skirt, lace bustier and off-shoulder design.

I can already imagine Bella wearing one of these gowns. Now I am more excited to see the last installment of the Twilight Saga.

Looser

I am such a looser. I have been waiting for the showing of the Sex and City movie ever since I discovered that they are making a part two of the SATC movie but up to now, I haven’t seen it. My girlfriends set up a movie date but I was not able to make it as hubby was away that time to attend their company’s team building. And since I am big already (since I am already 8 months pregnant that time), I need hubby to drive me to our meeting place.

And then a few weeks after it was shown, I gave birth and now I am busy taking care of our baby and catching up with work that I still haven’t seen it even on DVD. I saw the posts of my friends in their blog about the movie and I read about the different reviews of the film (some say it is good while others say that it is nothing compared to part one of the movie) and I can’t help but feel envious and now I am more eager to see the film.

Hmm, maybe I should ask my sister to buy the DVD for me so finally I will be able to see the girls, Aidan and Mr Big again.

Enjoying my Maternity Leave

Saturday, July 3, 2010

It has been 17 days already since I started my Maternity Leave and I am enjoying every moment that I am at home. There is no time that I miss my room in the office or my desk and other office furniture accessories as I really enjoy every minute that I spend with my kids at home.

Not that I don’t like working but it is very rarely that I get a chance to avail of this very long leave. The last time I availed of maternity leave was almost five years ago already.

I love the fact that my kids wake up every morning and it is me that they first see when they open their eyes. And when I am fully recovered from my operation, I can bring Bela to school everyday. I can also attend to Jacobo’s needs and I can exclusively breastfeed Jacobo.

I know my 78 days of maternity leave will pass by just like that so I will really try to enjoy every minute that I will stay at home to spend some quality time with my kids.

TY Twitter & Bebots Aunties

Looks like I will be needing box cutter as I am expecting another box again of my orders from Amazon. These are stuff that I ordered for my baby boy like my electric breast pump and bottle storage kit.

I received a gift via PayPal from my Bebots and Twitter friends and I have used that money for my shopping for my baby boy’s stuff. Thank you really guys for the gift. I was having second thoughts if I will buy a manual or electric breast pump but because of your gift, I finally was able to buy my dream electric breast pump so it will be easier for me to breastfeed my baby.

I am so excited already. I checked the status of my orders from Amazon and they have been shipped already last week so it will arrive in Manila anytime this week or next week. This will be a big help for me so I can express milk faster to feed my always hungry baby boy.

Thanks again girls. We really appreciate it.

Trunki

I am really loving this Trunki.

bela 552bela 553
Bela has used it a number of times already during our short vacations and it is really very useful.
Now, Bela has her own luggage bag where she can put her things like her clothes, her toys and other paraphernalia which she brings every time we travel so our big luggage will now be dedicated for my stuff and Howell stuff.

As Trunki is a ride-on suitcase, Bela can ride on it so we don’t have to carry her and her luggage and it is a perfect toy that can make her pre-occupied while we are waiting for our flight or something.

I am sure we will be bringing this luggage for all our future travels that is why I wanted to have a custom luggage tags made for Bela’s trunki. I even used it to carry Jacobo’s stuff when I gave birth so it is really a very useful luggage. I will definitely buy a second one when Jacobo is already big enough to have his own Trunki.

Mama

Yesterday was the last day of Mama’s wake here in Manila. By 12 am they we’re preparing her already for her journey back to her hometown in Sorsogon, Bicol.

I was not able to come as I just gave birth a week ago via CS delivery. I asked my OB if it is possible for me to accompany hubby and pay my last respect to my mother-in-law but my OB really discouraged me as my wounds are still fresh.

If only I could, I would really be there for mama and for hubby. This will be the last time that I will be seeing mama so I really love to pay my last respect for her. Aside from that, I wanted to be there for hubby as I know that this is the most difficult time in his life. I wanted to be there for him to show my support for him. He is saying that he is at peace now and that he has accepted the will of God already but just the same, I know he will be able to take this more easily if I will be there beside him.

I just hope and pray that hubby and the whole family will continue to be strong as we know that mama is already happy now as she is already together with her Creator.
