+ If you have sets of questions that you like to ask, email it to me. And we will post it next week!
1. When you see a man and woman walking together, do you automatically see them as ‘a couple’? Nope. Since I have a lot of male friends too and I sometimes go out with them.
2. Is it always okay to walk along minding your own business, not bothering anyone? Yes.
3. Which foods that you believe are bad for you that you stubbornly refuse to stop eating? Fatty foods.
4. How would you handle these three things: a rainy day, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights?
Rainy Day: I will stay at home, snuggled with Bela and hubby in bed, and eat chocolate porridge
Lost Luggage: I might cry first and get really worried. Then I will talk to my airline carrier and will clear things out with them and I have to make sure that I will be paid for the damages if in case they willnot be able to locate my luggage.
Tangle Christmas lights: I have no patience when it comes to things like this so Will ask hubby to handle it for me.
5. Do you easily adopt habits or phrases from the people around you? Not really.
6. What do you think of this situation?
~ In a checkout line at a store, someone is angrily yelling at the cashier because she’s waiting for minutes already. A long line of people are behind them with no other checkout line available. Does the angry person have a right to be yelling? Yes. There is a long line and only one cashier is open so the store should try to do something about it.
7.How often are you greeted by strangers in a friendly manner while walking around in public? With their smiles.
8. What do you think of Crocs? I like Crocs. It is very comfortable. I have 3 pairs of Crocs and I think my daughter have 9 pairs.
9. How long does it take you to get ready to go out? 30 minutes
10. What kind of accent do you find attractive? American accent. I don’t link British and Australian accent. I find it difficult to understand.

Internet is down again
My sister who is also using Smart Bro for their Internet at home sent me an SMS and is asking me if I have Internet connection since their connection is down too. She needs to do a research for her school paper regarding futures trading and is due the next day so she badly needs to go online.
I called Smart Bro and of course I get their usual reply and they are asking me to monitor my connection within 24 hours. I have heard from a number of my friends who is using Smart bro that they too are having problems with their Internet. I tried to ask Smart about it but they said that it is because they are upgrading this system. But I think they have been giving me this reason for months now.
Oh well, there is nothing I can do about it so I just went to bed early. I will try to visit all your blogs later if I still have the time after I packed our things for our trip. If not I will see you all guys next week.

Did I gain weight?
I posted some pictures here a few days ago of the MBAPs DAMPA lunch out. And I was glad when I received a comment from my good friend Ems that I look like I gained some weight.A few months back, a lot of my friends and relatives have noticed that my weight dropped and it looks like I have been drinking Fenphedra diet pill. It is because I haven’t been living a healthy lifestyle. I always sleep late since I have to finish a lot of stuff which contributed to my weight loss.
But I got really worried since I have been receiving the same comment from almost all my friends and relatives and so I made a promise that I will try to start living a healthy lifestyle. So since then, I have been trying to sleep early and have at least 8 hours of sleep.
So I was really glad when Ems mentioned that it looks like I have gained weight already. At least I know now that my new sleeping habits have a positive effect on my health.

Trainings
That time I just assumed that maybe we don’t have a budget for our training as what they always tell us. But my new boss brought that topic up during our last section meeting. I told him that we have submitted our training plan but it seems that management doesn’t have a budget for it. He said that we have a training budget and that we are entitled to get additional trainings as it is really a big help especially for us who are in the IT field as it is really a fast changing field.
He asked us to look for online universities and training centers where we can get additional trainings. Hopefully, this will push through as it will not only benefit us but the whole section as well as we will definitely learn a lot in this training which will be a big help in improving our service to our clients.

For her birthday
.: Philip :.
So for her upcoming birthday, Howell is thinking of giving her a pet. I am really not 100% convinced that giving Bela a pet would be a good decision since having a pet entails big responsibilities. But my husband is really keen in getting Bela a pug or a cat.
Her birthday is still a couple of months away so we still got more time to decide if we are up to buying either a pug or a cat and dog or cat supplies as our birthday present for her. We will see.

Pigging Out
I met with my MBAP friends and we had a very hearty lunch at DAMP Macapagal. We had Buttered Shrimp, Buttered Crab, fried and steamed fish, baked mussels and grilled Pork. The food was really delicious that I end up consuming 1-2 cups of rice.
Monday
My grand mother cooks the best beef tapa so I had a heavy lunch again and end up eating 1-2 cups of rice for lunch. Then I had chocolate porridge for my afternoon snack.
Tuesday
We had pork sinigang for dinner and this is my favorite meal so I had another 1-2 cups of rice. Then I had 3 chocolate pies for dessert. Hubby even brought home some Auntie Anne’s Pretzel with caramel and chocolate dip but I decided that I will just have it for breakfast.
If I keep on eating like this and with no exercise, I might end up using weight loss pills to loose weight.

Oriental Trading is here
I love shopping at Oriental Trading as they are really cheap since they are packed and priced by the dozen. I was computing and it is almost the same price if I buy it from Divisoria. I was really tempted to buy more items from them (and I even found their range of dollhouses so cute that I was tempted to buy one for Bela) but I only have a limited budget that time when I was shopping. I just shopped early as I want to avail of their free shipping and I want to take the opportunity while my friend is still here since we can ship our orders from US to Manila for free.
I will not post the pictures here first. I will keep it as a surprise until Bela’s birthday.

Busy, Long Weekend
But looks like it will be a busy weekend for us again. Here is our list:
* I have to drop by American Eye Center tomorrow to submit the requirements for my grandmother’s surgery so Philhealth will cover a part of the expenses for her surgery.
* Hubby will be attending Filipinas Heritage Library’s Photography class tomorrow where the class will visit the busy streets of Binondo so he will be out too tomorrow.
* I have to search the net for Chicago accident attorney so I can give a list to my aunt
* We also have to do our groceries tomorrow and buy a gift for one of Bela’s classmates who will be celebrating his birthday this coming Wednesday.
* Then it is our MBAP Dampa lunch on Sunday and I will meet the MBAP girls and I am really excited as I know we have a lot of things to talk about.
* Then hubby will have a prenuptial pictorial at the ADMC on Monday. We might tag along with him and we will just wait for him at the Fort strip.
Just thinking about all these makes me feel tired already. But I am so looking forward for next week since we are off to Baguio on Friday and time for another out of town vacation. Wink. Wink.

For my dad and my husband
In 2000, the City has removed this place to put on a mall and condominiums and the people were against this move but the court has made the decision. Most aficionados were left with betting through a local place which shows a televise broadcast of the races. Like many of these people is my husband who also goes to the races before I met him and he introduces me to many events like the MELBOURNE CUP, the Kentucky Derby and our own President’s Cup.
Along with my husband is my dad who also loves the sport and even opened a betting station in our area. So when I heard of the MELBOURNE CUP, they are the two people that came to my mind right away. My husband plans to take family for a vacation to Australia which will coincide with the dates when the MELBOURNE CUP is being held. I’m sure my dad and my husband will have a great there.

Weekend Snapshot # 15 - Our Saturday
Sunday, August 17, 2008
Saturday is a busy day at the American Eye Center. There are a lot of patients in queue and a number of tests have to be done to my grandmother so we are at the center for about three hours. Our daughter was with us and so my husband and I have to take turns in taking care of her since we have to go out of the center to keep her pre-occupied.
And even though we are so busy in accompanying my grandmother and taking care of our daughter at the same time, my husband was still able to take some time to take pictures of our daughter while my daughter gamely give poses for her dad.

Here are some pictures also while we are having lunch at Racks after my grandmother’s checkup.

So I will leave you with these pictures for now as I have to search for information about las vegas shows as I promised my aunt to help you with this.

More of my Nanny Stories
Just like today, she was upstairs the whole day and so I thought she was helping my husband clean up the second room so I was the one taking care of Bela. I was so sleepy and I was really looking forward to taking a nap but I can’t do it since I have to take care of my daughter while my nanny is taking her nap upstairs. I was so furious when I found out from my husband that my nanny was just in her room the whole day and did not help her clean our room. I was so mad that I even felt I need to take progesterone supplements to calm me down.
I really wanted to ask her to leave and not wait for the end of the month but since I can’t take a day off from work to take care of Bela in her absence and I know my mom will have a hard time taking care of Bela without my nanny’s help, I have no choice but to deal with her for another two weeks.
I already talked to my friend who recruits nanny from the province and she promised to notify me as soon as she finds a nanny for us. So wish me luck and hope I can keep my cool for another two weeks.

Beijing Olympics 2008

As we were watching we can’t help but imagine that it would really be great if we are watching it live in Beijing. For sure our good friend Alma and Romy, who is in Beijing right now is one of the audiences in the Stadium watching the opening ceremonies.
I remember they are both so into sports. They both played Paintball (complete with their tactical gear and paintball guns), they are runners who organize marathon runs to raise funds for charity, and they are mountain climbers too. They really love sports so for sure they won’t let this opportunity pass, for them to watch the Beijing Olympics live.
They invited us to join them in Beijing and they are willing to accommodate us in their home so we can watch the Olympics too but for sure China will be really crowded during that time and I don’t think it is recommended if we have a toddler in tow. Maybe next Olympics, Bela will be old enough to travel with us and she will get to enjoy the experience more.

We will watch Mulan
Every school year, Toddlers Unlimited takes their students to watch a musical or a play at the Children’s Theater. This year, Repertory Philippines is presenting Disney’s Mulan in a musical play that brings us back to ancient Chinese legends of the brave female heroine Mulan, who against all odds and cultural paradigms, upholds the honor of her family by fighting for her country.Toddlers Unlimited has arranged to watch the musical on September 12, 2008 at 10:30 – 12:00 noon. Bela hasn’t seen the movie Mulan but she loves to sing and dance so hopefully she will get to enjoy the show. We think that it will be an interesting experience for Bela to watch a musical especially she will be able to watch it in the company of her teachers, friends and us.
Toddlers Unlimited has blocked off the Lower Orchestra area for all their students. I was at Toddlers Unlimited yesterday and Ms. Jhoanne already showed me the theater seating plan. Howell told me not to get front row seats because the last time we watched a show (Dora the Explorer), we are at the front row and Bela got scared of Dora. I selected a seat on the Orchestra left and we are sitting beside Elie, one of Bela’s classmates so at least she has someone familiar beside her. Hope she will really enjoy it.

My To Do List for this week
But still despite the fact that I was able to do a lot today, I still have a few items remaining on my checklist:
* We’re due to leave for our Hong Kong vacation this coming November and I haven’t booked a hotel yet. I did some research but I haven’t talked to my cousins yet as to where they prefer to stay.
* Ask for my boss’s permission as I have to leave early for work on Tuesday wince I just got a letter from Bela’s school that our first Parent’s Teacher Conference is scheduled on Tuesday at 3:30 PM.
* Asked around for the next diet pills since my friend is asking for my help as she wants to try diet pills this time to loose weight.
* I have one pending work for tomorrow that I need to follow up with HQ.
* Follow up with Smart for the Smart Bro application of my sister. (Yes, she and my brother are so hooked with blogging that they decided to have their own Internet connection.)
* Call American Eye to schedule for an appointment for my husband and my grand mother.
I guess that’s all I need to accomplish for this week. I can’t wait for the week to end as I am looking forward for our family bonding time again this coming weekend at Shangri-La and MOA.

New Rx glasses for my husband

H has been complaining that he is experiencing some throbbing pain on his eyes every once in a while so he wants to go to his ophthalmologist to have his eyes checked. He used to wear prescription eyeglasses but he stopped using it because he is not comfortable when he is wearing it. But now that he is having some problems with his eyes, he realized that he needs to get his eyes checked.
We will be going to American Eye Center this Saturday to have his eyes checked and then we can check Zenni Optical $ 8 Rx Eyeglasses so we can buy a new one for my husband.

Yesterday and Today:
1. I went home early since we planned to go to St Jude to hear mass but I was stuck inside the bus for 3.5 hours due to heavy traffic because the streets of Buendia are flooded.
2. I was too lazy again to go online and I was too sleepy that I feel asleep around 10 PM (which is too early for me since I usually sleep around 2 AM).
3. I did my “SM” rounds and joined Litratong Pinoy for the first time.
4. I answered emails, inputted my statistics for the week, and summarized the tasks that I finished for this week for our weekly report next Monday.
5. I had a terrible headache and I was so lazy and unproductive the whole day because of it.
6. I tried to contact a party planner to finalize the booking for the magician for Bela’s birthday but again, the magician is already fully booked for that day and I can’t contact the party planner because looks like she is busy for her party for tomorrow so I’m kind of pissed and frustrated.
7. I searched the net for disney world tickets as my good friend will be going there next week with her family and I am helping her out as she knows I have been there already.

Me time
The room where they are having their class used to have a small window where parents can peep through to see what’s going on onside their room. But since one of Bela’s classmate have been crying non-stop during class since Wednesday, they decided to cover the small window since they are thinking the kid might be distracted by the adults peeping trough the window.

Since I don’t have anything to do there, I decided to have a cup of coffee at Starbucks. And I was able to have the strawberry Belgian waffle that I have been craving for days now when I saw it on Jane’s blog. I know I still have a lot of things on my to do list like I need to contact my party planner, I need to check for bar sinks, and I need to do some grocery shopping. But for two hours, I just sat there, relax and enjoyed my strawberry Belgian waffle and my chocolate chip blended coffee.
