LP #18: Dalampasigan

Ang mga larawang ito ay kuha sa dalampasigan ng paraiso ng Boracay noong kami ay nagbakasyon ditto noong nakaraang Oktubre. Ang aking kaibigan na si Malou kasama ng kanyang pamilya ay dito naninirahan sa Boracay kaya kami ay inanyayahan nila na magbakasyon sa kanilang tahanan.

Tuwang tuwa ang aking anak sa ganda ng paraiso ng Boracay. Kahit malakas ang alon ay walang tigil syang nag lalaro sa dagat. Kami ay inaanyayahan muli ng aking kaibigan na dalawin ulit sila sa kanilang tahanan sa Boracay. Siguro sa susunod na taon, kami ay makakaipon para sa pamasahe sa pag balik namin sa isla ng Boracay.

My daughter just so loves the beach. Even the big waves didn’t stop her from playing and enjoying the beach. Malou is inviting us over again for a vacation in Boracay. Hopefully, if we can save up, we can go back there next year for another vacation in the island paradise of Boracay.)

Confused

Party planning. That is what is keeping me busy these past few days. That is also the reason why I don’t have much update here in my blog as I am always online and is researching for party ideas, or I am checking out the different sites of party planners or I am busy comparing prices and managing my limited budget for Bela’s party.

Up to now, I still can’t make up my mind on who to hire as a magician. During Bela’s first birthday party, I didn’t even asked around and just rely on my party planner’s recommendation for our magician. Unfortunately, I was not happy with the magician that I got for Bela’s first birthday party that is why I am so obsessed now in researching as I don’t want the same thing to happen again. But I guess I am already a little late with my party preparations and I better make a decision soon, otherwise all the magicians on my list might be booked already by the time I already made up my decision.

Oh well, this party planning is stressing me out already so I need to take a break first. I might read the book, does Fenphedra work, that my cousin lends me to keep my mind preoccupied for the moment.

Weekend Roundup

Bela was not in the mood when she woke up Saturday morning as she was not able to see her dad when she woke up as Howell was working overtime. She kept on saying “My daddy, my daddy” and so when we were dressing her up for her swimming class, she kept on saying “No.” Howell is her swimming buddy during her class so maybe that is the reason she is refusing to dress up since she can’t see her dad around. So we decided to just skip class and just stay at home which I really enjoyed since I was able to catch some sleep while waiting for Howell to arrive.

Then Sunday, we promised Bela that we will go to the mall so we went to church early. Then after church we went to Fun Ranch since I am having second thoughts again for the venue that I am eyeing for Bela’s birthday. I am already pencil booked at Kidz Republic but looks like I am changing my mind for the puppet show and I now want an Exotic Bird and Reptile show instead since Bela got all excited when I showed her the pictures of the Bird show. So we went to Fun ranch to check out the restaurants there. Big red barn and Blue Whale both allows the Bird and Reptile show but I have to compute first if we can still afford it.

Since it was raining yesterday, Bela was not able to try the rides at Fun Ranch and we just end up shopping at the stores there. Kids of Bayo is on sale and I was able to buy shorts, skirts and louse for Bela. Howell bought new animal toys for Bela at the Toy Barn.

After Fun Ranch, we went to Greenhills since Howell has to buy some computer peripherals for the PC that he is fixing. After our lunch at Racks, we waited for hubby at Toy Kingdom and let Bela enjoyed the toys there.

Then after Howell bought that things that he need, we went to SM did our grocery and went home after that.

Workers' Waterloo

Sustenance to salvation is one factor that made some workers to be complacent or totally ignore the risks behind their choice of jobs. Trying to eke a living makes other to throw caution to the wind.

Workers who are using asbestos in their field of works are a good example to site on. Advance Happy Birthday

It’s my aunt’s birthday this coming August 31. She’s turning 46 and she’s very happy and she feel so blessed for another wonderful year that she will have. Needless to say, she’s very thankful for the continuous guidance and strength that she’s receiving.

Since my aunt is also my godmother, I’m planning to give her a very precious gift for her very special day but then, I still can’t think of any. Nevertheless, I’m considering her favorites stuffs to collect like bags, slippers and jewelries. Likewise, she likes to wear makeup but I don’t know what kind of makeup she’s currently using.

But then again, I’m now thinking of a jewelry that will best fit her and even her personality. I want to give her a necklace made of Akoya pearls because I think it will look so lovely for her. I guess I have to start saving more money so I can push through with my plans. I just hope she will like it.

Wordless Wednesday # 15 - Pretty Macaw

Music, Music, Music

I love listening to music. Specially in my line of work where I just stay in my room most of the time and so I always love to tune in to new country music stations to have a great music background while working. At least it will give me a boost to work since listening to music wakes up my adrenalin.

I have an analog radio that I use here in the office but the problem is since I am inside my room, I don’t get good reception most of the time. So I was really happy when I discovered Florida High Definition Radio stations. It is like my analog FM/AM stations but the difference is it is digital so I get crystal clear music for free.

I can say that I am really addicted to listening to the radio since it livens up my day specially if I am having a stressful day here at work. In fact, part of my wish list for Christmas is a Polk Audio I-sonic ES2. I love its compact size so it will really be perfect for my small room here in the office.

Wordless Wednesday # 14 - SG River and Esplanade

Day 1 in SG

Hello everybody. We arrived last Sunday from our four day trip to Singapore. We are all tired but we really enjoyed the trip, especially Bela who had the most fun after seeing all the animals in zoo.

So far, so good

Our new boss arrived last Wednesday and not the perfect timing since I was on leave Thursday to Friday for our Singapore trip. But I was able to welcome him and informed him that I will be away for two days.

Yesterday, I woke up early since I don’t want to be late on the first official day that he will be my new boss. Our new boss called us for a meeting at 9:00 AM as he wants to formally introduce himself to us – his background, his former job, etc and at the same time he wants to know our background too and the job that we do. This is a good sign as he is really interested with how we do things in the office which will give him an idea that all of us do the same amount of work.

So far, I like him, far, far better than my old boss. I hope he won’t change as I think that he is a fair boss and will give us equal opportunity for career growth. Not like my former boss where I was so stressed out that most of my colleagues think that I am taking Orovo detox that is why I am so thin.

So I’m keeping my fingers crossed and hope things will finally turned out well for me in the office.

Weekend Snapshot # 11 - My Parents

These pictures of my parents were taken when we are having a short stop during our city tour on our first day in Singapore. My husband loves taking pictures and my parents playfully pose for my husband. I was even telling them that they appear to be having a prenuptial pictorial.

Although they are tired already since we have to wake up early and leave the house at 3:30 AM for our 6:35 AM flight, it looks like they are really having fun and are enjoying every moment of this vacation. And even though my mom was a bit worried that she was not able to meet with her mortgage lenders before we left, she completely forgot about it and she just enjoyed every moment of our vacation.

Wordless Wednesday # 13 - Billboard

All our bags are packed….

....and we are ready to go. Yes, I am finally done packing. This is the thing that I hate most when traveling, the packing and unpacking of our stuff.

I have to carefully plan my wardrobe as I only have to bring limited clothes since I have to pack light because we have a lot of things to bring for Bela. I made a checklist so I won’t be forgetting anything and I was really happy since I was able to fit everything in one big luggage. Of course, I still have a carry on luggage for Bela’s stuff like her bottle, her changing clothes, her wipes, her extra diaper, her toys and her DVD player.

I hope she won’t give us a hard time during the flight. When we went to Bohol last January and to Hong Kong last August, she was asleep during landing and take off and during the flight so we did not have a hard time. But I remember when we went to Boracay, she was crying the whole time on our way home. And it was just me and Howell during that trip so we are both going crazy as to how we can calm her. Hopefully she will enjoy the airplane ride this time. I already told her that we will be riding a rocket (that is how she calls an airplane) just like Leo, June, Quincy and Annie from the Little Einsteins. We will also be bringing her Little Einsteins DVD so she can watch it during the flight. Hopefully our strategy will work.

So one more day and we’re finally off for our vacation. I will be back with lots of pictures.

The shopaholic Me

Ok, I admit it. I am a shopaholic. But I can justify my shopping because majority of the time, I only shop for my little daughter. I love shopping cute tank tops, pants, skirts and even accessories for her.

That’s one thing that I like for having a daughter. There are a lot of nice and cute clothing for girls that I can choose from, that I really can’t resist the urge to shop every time I see one. Who can resist a cute and sexy skirt that goes well with a nice tank top that really looks good on my daughter when she tries it on? I think I shop for my little girl almost every week that sometimes my friends are already saying that I am already an addict.

But since my daughter is already attending school and they don’t have a uniform, she really needs a lot of wardrobe that she can wear to school. I was just browsing the net and I found some cute tank tops and shorts from my favorite brand for my daughter, Roxy Girl. I will be checking my pay check tomorrow and if budget permits, I might buy it for her.

He is bored

It looks like my dad needs to consider getting Business Loans so he can start his own business so he doesn’t get bored at home.

My dad is a retired seaman and he has been working abroad for more than twenty years before he retired that is why he is used to working all the time. That is why now that he is retired, he often gets bored since he has nothing to do at home.

So my brother thought of letting him have his own business so he has something to be busy with. The problem is he doesn’t have enough capital to start his own business so I suggested that he applied for a business loan from AfsLoansOnline. I heard it is just easy to apply as he just needs to fill up an online form and there is no application fee. Plus he can get an approval with 24-48 hours.

I hope he will qualify for a business loan so he can start his own business soon.

My Internet connection was only restored around 12 AM today and so it is already 2 AM and I am still working. I got a lot to catch up before our Singapore trip. But my back is already aching, and our bed is already calling me so I guess I have to sign off now.

But before I do that, let me list first my To do list for tomorrow:

Cursed Smart Bro

Darn, I have no Internet connection again. I was working until 230 am when my connection got disconnected. I immediately called Smart Bro Customer Car hotline after I did some basic troubleshooting, and guess what my base station is down again.

I tried again this morning only to find out that it is still down. I requested for a re-homing of my base station but it is as if I am begging to get a service from them. They said that it is not possible to schedule a contractor to visit our house to check my connection since they have to evaluate first the parameters for my connection which they cannot do since my base station is down. So what they want me to do is wait for the base station to be fixed before they can schedule the re-homing of my base station. And they can’t promise me when will it be fix and after it is fixed I have to wait for 24 hours for feedback since the support group has to evaluate first the report created by the customer care agent.

So I was really frustrated when I woke up this morning as I feel that I have to beg them to give me service for something that I am paying for. Damn Smart Bro. I don’t want to go through all if this hassle so later I will be calling PLDT to apply for DSL and I will have my Smart Bro connection cut as soon as I have my DSL.

Our Bohol Vacation

I was sorting through our pictures as I need t make a back up of it to a DVD when I chanced upon our Bohol vacation pictures. It was our Christmas gift for my mom and dad and at the same time it is Howell and I’s birthday and anniversary celebration.

We really had a grand time there as we were really able to relax for four days and three nights. My dad even said that she enjoyed this vacation more than our Hong Kong vacation since he was really able to relax and have fun with her dear grand daughter

Who wouldn’t have a great time if all we do for four days in three nights is this:

Eat our heart out as we enjoy the sumptuous meals that they offer at their buffet every lunch and dinner.

Lie lazily the whole afternoon in their hammock chair and just enjoy the beauty of nature.

Go swimming and have a tan at the beach.

Enjoy the dolphins as we went dolphin watching.

And just enjoy the company of each other for four days and three nights.
Hope we can do this again soon.

Sale – Sale – Sale

I went crazy doing an online window shopping since a lot of online sites are having their 4th of July sale. Some of them even have an additional 20 – 25% discount on top of their sale items until July 10th.

I know it is still a little early but I figured I can start doing my Christmas shopping now. Imagine I can buy flip flops, blouses, perfume, lotion, personalized pens, shoes, clothes at 30-50% off. That would be a huge saving for me. And it is really a perfect timing since my friend is in Baltimore right now and I can have it delivered at his hotel address and then he will just shipped it to me here in Manila. I would be saving big bucks for sure.

I can’t wait for my Internet connection to be restored so I can do my online shopping. I am now sitting here at a coffee lounge and the connection really sucks so it takes forever for the sites to load.

I can’t wait to have my hands on my laptop and click my mouse button to check out all the items in my shopping cart.

Signs that you need to loose weight

What are the signs that you have to start loosing weight?

1. Friday is like a wash day in the office as most of the employees don’t wear office attire on Fridays. I was putting on my pants this morning and I was having a hard time with the zipper and the buttons. Gosh, I realized I no longer fit in my old pants.
2. My sister’s friend was at our house last week and I heard her when she whispered to my sister “Oh your sister is pregnant again.” It would be a good thing if I am pregnant but I am not. I just have a big tummy. LOL.
3. Your tummy is showing when you are wearing fitted shirts and blouse.

Looks like I have all the signs that I need to start to loose weight. Maybe instead of buying an LV bag, I should buy a treadmill instead so hubby and I can start exercising everyday. Howell also gained a lot of weight after his three weeks stay in Majuro as he did nothing there but eat, eat and eat. So at least I have a partner once I really start on my diet.

On School Projects and Website

My sister is a Computer Science student. She is now on her third year and they are now starting to do hard core programming. One of their projects at the end of this term is to build a website from scratch.

I am no web programmer but I did some simple HTML programming at work. It is already an existing site and all I have to do is do some simple editing to update the content of the site so I really haven’t tried to build web page from scratch. But as how my friend who is a programmer describes it, it is really a tedious job. They subdivide the tasks of doing the website to different teams or groups as one task is big enough to be handled by just one person.

Building a website entails a lot of process. A domain name and a domain host must be acquired to make the site online. Web administrators will take care of the registration of the domain name and select where to host the site. The content should then be discussed which can include the topics, the links, the main buttons that will be included in the page. After determining the subjects and the topics to be included in the site, programmers then have to deal with the website design which covers the look and feel of the site. And lastly, the programmers have to determine the web development tools that they will use so they can start with the creation of the site where real programming begins.

A dog for her birthday?

It is very evident how much our daughter loves animals. Be it a dog, a cat, a lizard, a hamster, she just loves holding and playing with them. My husband has been thinking to get her a small dog as our birthday gift for her. I know my daughter will be trilled for her new pet but I am having second thoughts and I have been thinking if it is really a good idea.

My daughter will just be three years old on her birthday and I don’t think at three, she will be responsible enough to take care of her pet. This means that the responsibility of taking care of her dog will be upon us and having a pet is no joke as it is also a big responsibility. Some even say that it is like having your own kids.

But my husband said that we can share the responsibility of taking care of the dog. We can use litter box training a dog to potty train the dog and at least maintain the cleanliness of the house. But we will see. We still have four months to decide about that.

Intranet is Up

Finally, after months of working with our Intranet site, the English version is now up and running. All the sections have made a contribution for all the information that will be put in the website. This website aims to give employees an easy access for the information that they need about the Administration section. This site will also be helpful for all incoming officers who will be assigned here in Manila as they can read in advance information that can help them make their move here a lot easier.

Update: My friend’s house planning

I made a post here a week ago about my friend’s house planning. He is now in the next phase of his planning and is now sourcing for materials that he can use for the construction of his home.

3. What was the last TV program you watched? Playhouse Disney with my daughter. This is her favorite channel to watch and she never gets tired watching the shows in that channel.
4. What was the last thing you ate? Rice with Spanish sardines for breakfast.
5. What time did you get out of bed today? 6:30 AM as I have to prepare to go to work.

An alternative way to drink my vitamins

Do you take vitamins supplements? I am the type of person who can’t seem to remember to take my vitamins everyday. My house help would even put my vitamins beside my breakfast plate so that I will remember to drink it, but most of the time I would end up still forgetting about it since I am always in a hurry in the morning.

Wedding Plans

My husband and I were watching one of the weddings that my husband and my cousin covered. The wedding was so romantic that I was even in tears while watching it. Then suddenly my husband said “Mom, let’s get married again on our 5th anniversary” and he said that he wants a beach wedding this time. Just the thought of my husband wanting to marry again sends shivers all over my spine. I love that idea. I remember when we were preparing for our wedding back in 2004, we initially wanted to have a beach wedding in one of those all inclusive resorts. But due to logistics and budget issues, we drop the idea.

I remember my cousin from Canada decided to have a simple beach wedding in negril jamaica. They flew all their relatives there from Canada and from their wedding pictures; it looks like they really had a great wedding. Imagine all the wedding party was there days in advance so they were able to party, enjoy the beach and had fun before the actual wedding itself. Even the guests and all their relatives felt like they had a grand vacation. My cousin and her wife also had their honeymoon there so it is like they are having one of those adult vacations in the beautiful island of Jamaica.

I love weddings and I love preparing for one and if only I have the time and the budget, I would definitely love to get married again and I would love to have a beach wedding too.

Wordless Wednesday # 12 - Independence Day in Majuro

My day

I was out the whole day today even though it is our holiday from work. We were at Shangri-La mall this morning for my dad and my grandmother’s eye check up. I was so dead tired as I have to take care of Bela while my mom attends to my grandmother and my dad’s needs. My nanny was not with us as I asked her to do errands at home.

Good things we went on a weekday so there is no long queue at American Eye and we only stayed there for an hour I think while the specialist checked my grandmother and dad. Good thing Bela was not cranky since we were able to go around the malls so she was a bit entertained while waiting for my grandmother and my dad’s check up to finish. And while I was going around the mall with Bela, I was able to buy her favorite juice and my brother’s muscle growth supplements at Healthy Options. He has been bugging me to buy this for him so finally I was able to buy it.

I had one busy and tiring day and tomorrow will be one busy day again at the office. So I have to sign off now. I will be back to blogging tomorrow. Good night everyone!
