My project while Howell is away

When I entered our bedroom last night, it suddenly dawned on me that it was a mess. There was a lot of clutter from my daughter’s toys, to Howell’s books to my old bags that I have not been using and we even have one of those out of style lamps that we got as a present during our wedding. Then I thought it is about time that I do some de-cluttering and interior decorating for our bedroom. This would be a good project while hubby is away so the new look of our bedroom will be a perfect surprise when he gets back. Plus it will also be a good way for me to be preoccupied so I won’t miss him that much.

So here is what I plan to do:

1. De-clutter. I have to clean our room first. I have to remove those stuffs that we have not been using and are just collecting dust under our bed. I have to organize Bela’s toys which mean I have to buy a cabinet or a rack for it so it is not scattered in our bedroom.

2. Change the lighting in our bedroom. Right now we are using an overhead lighting which I think is really unflattering and doesn’t give a homey and relaxing feel. This time I want shadows, highlights and the soft glow of filtered light. So I’m thinking of buying lamps and lamp shades which I will place on each side of our bed.

And since I will be changing the overall lighting in our room, I need to buy one of those desk lamps for Howell’s work area.

3. So after cleaning up, I have to get rid of anything too that doesn’t smell great like our laundry hamper and I think I will have to check those scented candles too to give our room an inviting smell.

This should really keep me busy. I’m excited already just thinking about it and I hop Howell will like the new look and feel of our room when he gets back.
