Majuro TD - Confirmed

It is confirmed, my husband will be going to Majuro this coming June 9-23 for temporary duty. He just received his travel order yesterday and their section secretary is now processing his travel requests.

As early as now I’m already starting to feel sad and worried. I know Bela and I survived when Howell went for training for three weeks to Washington, DC last December. But things are different now. One, there is no roaming partner at Majuro for either Smart and Globe so we just have to rely on email for communication. He is not sure also if they have internet connectivity at the hotel. I hope they have so at least we can chat with Yahoo. Second, there are no malls there so I know Howell will be home sick and bored to death there for three weeks.

My best friend who works in the same company as my husband is now at Majuro for temporary duty also. When I asked him, how is he doing there and that Howell will be going there also for three weeks, all that he can tell me is, “Good luck for Howell.” I also read from his blog that he has to stop at 7 airports in order to reach Majuro so for sure Howell will be so dead tired after the flight.

Oh well, Howell has no choice but to accept the appointment. And as what he has been telling me, at least he will earn a little extra cash from his per diem for our Singapore trip. So expect in the coming days that I will post stories here on how Bela and I will survive again the three weeks that Howell will be away, as blogging may be the only way to keep my sanity. LOL.
